I hope that this year I have demonstrated a willing involvement within the school community. I hope that I have been able to have meaningful contact with parents, colleagues and students. I have done my best to find the time to participate in MYG nights, extracurricular sports, ASA, and H.O.T. I would like to think that the students think of me as someone who is willing to go outside and play some football at lunch, or someone who they can come and talk to when they are having trouble with something in their life.
Earlier this year I attended a 6 traits writing conference in Kuala Lumpur and returned to SAS and lead a professional development day for other teachers in six traits at the middle and high school levels. I have also undergone an apprenticeship under Frances Hensley to become a trained CFG facilitator. I found this to be a meaningful experience and really look forward to moving forward with the SAS vision related to CFGs. I have also agreed to take on a leadership role for the mentorship program here at SAS pudong. Next year I will be facilitating the mentor days and mentor groups/leaders for the pudong campus. I hope that this will be an opportunity to really improve this great program for new hires and lay the ground support for their transition into the SAS community.
